Awesome Black is looking for a Studio Manager to help establish and grow our new music and photography in Maitland, on Wonnarua Country.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is deeply connected to their local community and excited by the opportunity to build something new.

You’ll help bring the studio to life by developing local partnerships and relationships, supporting bookings and day-to-day studio operations, connecting with artists, community organisations and businesses, and helping create workshops, creative programs and opportunities from the space.

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate strong existing connections across Maitland and the wider Hunter region, alongside the ability to build new relationships and partnerships.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be based within the Maitland or nearby region and have full work rights in Australia. The job may require a Working with Children Check and other appropriate pre-employment checks, but this is not a requirement at the time of application.

Please outline the music, arts, creative, community, education or business organisations, venues, artists or networks you currently have relationships with, and give examples of any partnerships or opportunities you have developed.

Then, tell us how you would use these connections and build new relationships to generate bookings, partnerships, programs and other opportunities for the studio. Please give 2–3 specific examples of organisations, networks or types of businesses you would approach and why.
