Our Role
Awesome Black took the lead in curating and organising the Blak Loud Showcase as an extension of our ongoing partnership with Amazon Music and the Blak Loud playlist. We handled everything from artist selection to event direction, ensuring the showcase featured a lineup that represented the cutting edge of First Nations music. The showcase became a platform for Blak voices to be heard in a visceral, powerful way that resonated with both the audience and performers alike.

Key Highlights

  • Curation and Lineup: We worked closely with Amazon Music to curate a lineup that included the Milla brothers (J-MILLA and Yung Milla), Miss Kaninna, and Jessica Mauboy, blending emerging and iconic Blakfulla talent.
  • Unforgettable Performances: The Same Blood collaboration between J-MILLA and Yung Milla was a standout, with its raw energy uniting the room. Miss Kaninna’s set was a transcendent moment, reflecting her deep connection to the music and her creative power. Jessica Mauboy’s intimate performance for just 300 people was a masterclass in versatility, bringing stadium-level energy into a personal space and creating spontaneous, heartwarming moments with the audience.
  • Community Impact: The showcase extended beyond the music, embodying a sense of community and cultural pride. Performers like 3% exemplified the current Blakfulla experience, delivering a boundary-pushing set before heading off to their own headline show, further proving the significance of Blak Loud in shaping contemporary Blak music culture.
