Petroglyph is a podcast and video series created and hosted by Travis De Vries, designed to take audiences on a deep dive into the world of creativity, culture, and storytelling. Launched in 2024 by Awesome Black, Petroglyph amplifies the voices of First Nations musicians, artists, and cultural leaders, creating a space for slow, thoughtful conversations that reveal the layers behind creative expression.

OUR PROJECTS

On October 18th, Awesome Black proudly curated a unique showcase for the Sounds Australia India Delegation atop the Paramount Building in Sydney. This intimate rooftop event brought together a mix of First Nations artists, community members, and industry partners, creating a vibrant cultural exchange that celebrated the power of First Nations contemporary music on a world stage.
The Blak Loud Showcase, held at Bustard Town in Darwin, was an electrifying celebration of First Nations music, curated by Awesome Black in collaboration with Amazon Music Australia. This showcase brought together a diverse lineup of Blakfulla musicians, highlighting their talent, power, and pride in an intimate live setting that delivered an unforgettable experience.
Empowering First Nations individuals in Australia to tell their stories using podcasting and amplifying them across the world on the Spotify platform.

As part of SXSW Sydney 2023 Jade Goodwin designed a collaborative mural for visitors to the First Nations Lounge to foster everyone’s creative spirit and bring them together.
Awesome Black worked on a special First Nations mural commission for Mastercard to be on show at the 2022 Aus Open in Melbourne. We worked closely with local Narrm artist Ky-Ya Nicholson to concept, design and install the mural.

A First Nations led children’s podcast that brings to life big stories by little kids
Working closely with the SXSW Sydney curatorial team Awesome Black assisted with ensuring that First Nations voices and experiences were front and centre at the 2023 conference and events. From the opening ceremony on Tumbalong Park and Welcome to Countries at every major event to opportunities for mob to attend and Nooky ‘passing the mic’ to Chance the Rapper, Awesome Black had a hand in good stuff happening.
Each year as part of our work with Amazon Music Australia and their partnership with the NIMA’s we help host and curate a killer show to bring to life the Blak Loud playlist in a live setting. The first year saw Kobie Dee and Barkaa co-headline along with sets from up and coming artists Djanaba and Jada Weazel’s first ever live show.
A collaboration with Amazon Music AU, Awesome Black curates a monthly playlist; Blak Loud creates bespoke artwork and promotes the best, fresh Blak music.
