THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO … DAMN, I NEED TO WORK WITH AWESOME BLACK

FEATURE PROJECT

In 2023 Awesome Black received funding from Screen Australia as part of their First Nations Games Studio fund. We are in early development to create a video game from our original IP based on short stories and narrative worlds created by Travis De Vries.

2023 PROJECTS

A collaboration with Amazon Music AU, Awesome Black curates a monthly playlist; Blak Loud creates bespoke artwork and promotes the best, fresh Blak music.
Each year as part of our work with Amazon Music Australia and their partnership with the NIMA’s we help host and curate a killer show to bring to life the Blak Loud playlist in a live setting. The first year saw Kobie Dee and Barkaa co-headline along with sets from up and coming artists Djanaba and Jada Weazel’s first ever live show.
Working closely with the SXSW Sydney curatorial team Awesome Black assisted with ensuring that First Nations voices and experiences were front and centre at the 2023 conference and events. From the opening ceremony on Tumbalong Park and Welcome to Countries at every major event to opportunities for mob to attend and Nooky ‘passing the mic’ to Chance the Rapper, Awesome Black had a hand in good stuff happening.
